
The 67th season of the MotoGP World Championship is all set to commence this weekend with the Qatar Grand Prix at the Losail International Circuit in Doha. Zee group firm Ten Sports Network won exclusive rights to broadcast the races along with Moto2 and Moto3 races including the qualifying races live on its six channels in the Indian subcontinent till 2019.
Defending champion Marc Marquez will be eyeing his second win here but has a long way before overtaking four-time top tier champion Casey Stoner. Six-time champion Valentino Rossi remains a strong contender for the title this season. However, fortune has not favoured the 36-year-old since he last finished on top in 2009.
The pre-race coverage will feature Alix Capper-Murdoch, a well-known British-born racing instructor, commentator and stunt woman, will host a brand new studio show ‘Inside Track’ along with presenter Sambuddha Dutt. The show will showcase an in-depth analysis of race-day, touching all aspects including riders, teams, circuits, and standings.
Live streaming survives will be available via the channel’s official website, tensports.com. Additionally, to enhance the viewer’s experience a second-screen feature will also be available allow fans to see different camera angles while watching the race, with the help of more interactive features. The MotoGP line-up will be further enhanced by additional motorcycle racing-related programming between Grand Prix weekends. The qualifying race of Moto3 will commence from 8:25 pm IST with Moto2 and Moto GP following suit at 9:25 pm and 11:05 pm respectively.
Sunday’s MotoGP warm-up race is scheduled for 7:30 pm with the race set to commence at 11:30 pm.
