New Delhi: The biggest market in T20 cricket is once again ready to open its doors. Ahead of the Tata IPL 2026 mini-auction on December 16, franchises are finalising their strategies. In the ‘TATA IPL Auction Most Wanted’ show, JioStar experts revealed the names of players who are highly likely to attract big bids this time.
Former selector MSK Prasad described Venkatesh Iyer as an “all-round player” for Kolkata Knight Riders. According to him, Iyer has proven himself in every role, from opening to the middle order.
Prasad also had high praise for Ravi Bishnoi. He believes that teams like Sunrisers Hyderabad and Chennai Super Kings might bid for Bishnoi, as he is not only a brilliant bowler but also an excellent fielder.
Legendary fast bowler Dale Steyn called Liam Livingstone the ‘game-changer’ of the auction. According to him, Livingstone has the ability to clear the boundaries of any ground. He can also bowl both leg-spin and off-spin, which makes him a very dangerous all-rounder.
Irfan Pathan described Cameron Green as an ideal option for KKR and CSK. Especially after Andre Russell’s retirement, the demand for an all-rounder like Green has increased.
Meanwhile, Daryl Mitchell is considered a strong batsman against spin. His experience on pitches like those in Chennai makes him a reliable overseas player.
Sanjay Bangar believes that David Miller could be among the most expensive players in this auction. His finishing abilities are attracting many teams.
There is also considerable interest in Jonny Bairstow. His utility as a wicketkeeper-batsman and his complete focus on T20 cricket make him a strong option for teams like Delhi Capitals and KKR.
