The Patiala High Court took everyone by surprise, earlier today, as it acquitted all the 16 players accused of spot fixing in the 2013 Indian Premier League. Three Rajasthan Royals’ players- S Sreesanth, Ankit Chandila, and Ankit Chavan- who faced serious allegations against them were also discharged of any charge leveled against them. Social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter were all jovial to see players being acquitted.
Netizens thronged to Twitter to express joy after seeing the temperamental Kerala speedster back in the scheme of things. #Sreesanth was one of the top trends on the social media. We at India.com bring to you a list of 9/10 tweets that will showcase the love of Internet society for discarded Indian bowler- Shantakumaran Sreesanth. The judgment by Patiala High court came as a surprise for everybody as just last week; Supreme Court-appointed Lodha committee had suspended Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) for two years. The committee also took CSK Team Principal- Gurunath Meiyappan, and RR co-owner Raj Kundra to task as they were banned for life to indulge in any cricketing activity.
However, all’s well that ends well. After the players being booked under the provisions of MCOCA, it comes as good news for all the players who have been acquitted by the court. DRUM ROLL ALREADY!
