Billy Joe Saunders landed in troubled waters after his video advising how to hit women during coronavirus lockdown went viral couple of days ago. While Saunders was lambasted on social media for his controversial video, the WBO Super Middleweight Champion on Monday was told by the British Boxing Board of Control today he was suspended until a future hearing. The board said in a statement: “The British Boxing Board of Control have considered comments made by Billy Joe Saunders on social media. We have suspended his boxer’s licence, pending a hearing under the Board’s misconduct, at a time and venue to be confirmed as soon as possible.” Also Read - Kejriwal Warns of Action Against Private Hospitals Denying COVID-19 Treatment, Urges Asymptomatic People to Not Test

During the video – that went viral from WhatsApp – Saunders demonstrated a straight right hand followed by a left hook on a punch bag. He says: “I just wanted to make a little video for all you dads, husbands, if you’ve got girlfriends etc. Obviously this Covid-19 is getting very serious and we are isolated away. If your old woman is giving you mouth and you try to be patient, you try to be calm, cool, but after the sixth day you’re just about to explode.” Also Read - AIIMS PG Entrance Exams 2020: Admit Cards Issued, Download From aiimsexams.org

“All of a sudden she’s coming at you, spitting a bit of venom in your face, ready to say something, you may have left the dishes out, I don’t know what you’ve done but you’ve upset her.

“As she comes in, she’s coming at you and you’ve lost it, just keep it safe with the hands. So as she comes in, she’s just about to say something, all of a sudden you explode and hit her on the chin. At this time she may flash and see white and think, ‘What’s happened?’, she’s in a state of a horror. She doesn’t know what’s going on and all of a sudden you dip down on that knee and you finish her off. That should do the trick.”

Saunders had earlier claimed he was joking in the video and likened it to a comedian’s stand-up routine. “I am getting a lot of hate mail wishing me dead, wishing my family and my kids dead,” he told talkSPORT.”I haven’t got another half but I have got a daughter and if anyone did that to my daughter I would hurt them bad, to be honest.

“I would never use my profession outside the ring but if anyone touched a finger on my daughter I would literally go all hell loose on them. Whatever I have got in my body.

“In other circumstances, and I don’t condone what I said, but you get comedians taking the mickey out of people’s disabilities etc, it was very silly but you don’t see any other people targeted. Is it because of my background, people jump more on it because I’ve done some stuff in the past?

“I am who I am, I am not going to say I will never make another mistake in my life. I don’t intentionally mean to make these mistakes, I didn’t have a very good education.
