Usain Bolt, eight-time Olympic gold medal winner, bagged the honour of being the Sportsman of the Year at Laureus World Sports Awards held in Monaco on Tuesday. Bolt was once again unstoppable at Rio Olympics in 2016 where he won both the 100 m and the 200 m races. Remember the awards were given for performances in the year gone by.

American gymnast Simone Biles who stunned everyone when she bagged an amazing five medals at Rio continued her success as she scooped the honour of being the Sportswoman of the Year at the awards.

The Team of the Year prize went to American outfit Chicago Cubs who bagged the World Series title in baseball in 2016. Leicester City, who bagged the English Premier League title, had to contend with the Spirit of Sport award. Also Read-Bolt upbeat in Australia despite medal loss
