Rajasthan Royals prodigy Vaibhav Suryavanshi will be back in action in India colours, this time in the ACC Under-19 Asia Cup 2025 which gets under way in Dubai on Friday (December 12). Suryavanshi was he leading run-getter for India in the ACC Asia Cup Rising Stars 2025 featuring the India ‘A’ team and hit the most sixes in the tournament as well.

The 14-year-old opener from Bihar scored the joint fifth-fastest century in men’s T20 off 32 balls in the Rising Stars tournament in Doha last month. Earlier this year, Suryavanshi became the youngest player to make debut in the history of IPL and also became the youngest-ever centurion in the T20 league after his century for Royals against Gujarat Titans.

The tournament will feature top teams from the region and India’s brightest emerging players, including Chennai Super Kings batter Ayush Mhatre as well as Suryavanshi, who earned his place in the Under-19 squad after an outstanding performance alongside his India A teammates.

The 2025 edition of the Asia Cup Rising Stars put youth cricket on a pedestal, delivering viewership multiples higher than the 2024 edition. The tournament reached 30.4 million unique viewers, almost five times that of the previous iteration with India’s matches rating three times higher. This surge reflects growing interest in cricket beyond the India men’s senior team and sets the stage perfectly for the Men’s Under-19 Asia Cup starting December 12.

The tournament features eight teams Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Nepal, and UAE. Team India, led by captain Ayush Mhatre with vice-captain Vihaan Malhotra, faces stiff competition in Group A alongside Pakistan, UAE, & Malaysia, while Group B pits Bangladesh against Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, and Nepal. The matches kick off in Dubai, promising high stakes clashes among these rising stars.
