Young Rishabh Pant did not have the best day in the office during the 4th ODI at Mohali. From missing stumping to conceding free runs, Pant did it all. He also tried a Dhoniesque-like stumping, failed miserably and got a piece of India captain Virat Kohli’s mind who did not appreciate the effort. The incident took place in the 44th over when Chahal trapped Carey on the pad as the ball rolled towards the left of the pitch. Carey looked to pinch a single but decided against it soon. Pant may have sensed an opportunity as he flicked the ball back trying to hit the stumps. It did not hit the stumps, instead provided a single.

Here is the video:

During the match, it seemed fans missed former India captain MS Dhoni and hence were heard screaming ‘Dhoni, Dhoni’ every time Pant goofed up.

Meanwhile, India lost the match by four wickets and 14 balls to spare. It was Ashton Turner 43-ball 84* that won the match for Australia and helped them square the series and force a decider.

Speaking at the post-match presentation, Kohli said Asthon Turner’s innings was the game-changer.

The Indian skipper also credited the opponents for being perfect in every department of the game. “They played better cricket, they deserved to win,” he said.

The decider will be played in the capital, Delhi on March 13 and it is expected to be nothing short of a humdinger.
