Team India’s head coach Anil Kumble and captain Virat Kohli met Committee of Administrators (CoA) on Sunday to put forward their various demands. Among numerous requests, it is learnt that the duo has demanded fast bowling coach for the team. Last year, Kumble overtook Ravi Shastri as the new coach of the Indian team. BCCI however, did not name a replacement for Bharat Arun, the then bowling coach. Kumble and Kohli’s demand comes at a time when India is doing well in pace bowling department. India’s squad for ICC Champions Trophy 2017 boasts of four frontline fast bowlers, Umesh Yadav, Mohammed Shami, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah, along with pace bowling allrounder Hardik Pandya. Harbhajan endorses ZAK
Meanwhile, Harbhajan Singh took to the micro-blogging website Twitter and endorsed Zaheer Khan’s name as the bowling coach for team India. The offspinner tweeted, “@ImZaheer would be the best option for indian fast bowling coach in my opinion..Great mind #Greatfella.”
Apart from the request of bowling coach, Kumble and Kohli also demanded a 150% pay hike for Grade A players in the Central Contracts and a 50% hike for the support staff.
