Indian skipper Virat Kohli wished everyone happy Holi but with a message. The batting star requested his fans not to colour street animals. “Happy Holi everybody. Have a great day today. Please make sure no harm is done to the animals on the streets. God Bless all,” Kohli tweeted along with a video.

Captain Kohli is known for his love for animals. Recently he signed a petition for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) to ban the controversial sports Jallikattu as it takes many lives in Tamil Nadu every year.

During the festival of Holi, many people colour animals without thinking about the outcome. Animals, especially street dogs, birds, and cats are often coloured.  These animals start licking their body; as a result, the chemical of the colour goes into their stomach and affects their organs. Also Read: Mohammad Shahzad overtakes Virat Kohli on most runs in T20Is list
