At Galle, India registered their biggest victory at overseas conditions. After captain Kohli declared India’s second innings on 240 for 3 spinners Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin played a key role to ensure India’s victory with one day in hand.

During India’s 304 runs victory they have broken their previous record in Sri Lanka. In 2015, India have defeated Sri Lanka by 278 runs under Kohli’s captaincy at P. Sara Oval. In a span of two years, Team India set a new record on the island.

At the same time, pace bowlers Mohammad Shami and Umesh Yadav picked up one each to ensure India’s victory on day four. Also read: India vs Sri Lanka: Team India Faces Selection Dilemma After Galle Win

Ashwin finished with 3/65 while Jadeja has taken three wickets conceding 71 runs. However, injured Asela Gunaratne and skipper Rangana Herath didn’t come to bat in the second innings while Dilruwan Perera finished the match as unbeaten.
