With a couple of days to go for the second Test at Hagley Oval, Christchurch, former India World Cup-winning captain Kapil Dev on Thursday said he is not worried about India skipper Virat Kohli and premier pacer Jasprit Bumrah’s lean patch. “He is a great player and great players come back much stronger than normal players do,” Kapil said at an event. “He will bounce back, I have no doubt. He still has lots of good cricket in him.” Also Read - Ind vs NZ: Virat Kohli Not in Favour of India's Overcautious Batting Approach

He is just one good spell away from getting back his rhythm said the former India allrounder about Bumrah. He said that Bumrah is a proven customer and one does not need to worry about his form.

In the case of Bumrah, Kapil said: “Once you get an injury it takes time for the body to recover completely. He is a very fine bowler and he proved it before. A person who has proven himself at that level. As batsmen, we say you need one innings to come back to form and you need one good spell for a bowler. I am a positive person and always think that he needs one or two wickets to get back.”

Earlier, after India’s humiliating 0-5 loss to the hosts in the five-match ODI series, Kohli had said this year the focus is on T20Is and Tests. The 61-yer old felt that as a cricket lover every match is important.

“As a cricket lover, every match is important to me. What (the team) management said, that is up to them but as a former cricketer, I would say every Test, One Day and T20 match is important,” said the Haryana-born.

Kohli has scored 209 across formats in this series in nine innings, whereas Bumrah went wicketless in the five-match ODI series.
