New Delhi: It is Diwali today and like any other occasion Indian sports stars from Virat Kohli to Mary Kom have greeted their fans. However, these stars have also urged fans to celebrate pollution-free Diwali.
“May Maa Lakshmi bless you with happiness and prosperity. Jai Lakshmi Mata!” tweeted Virender Sehwag. The former Indian cricketer had yesterday also tweeted regarding Diwali “May this Diwali dispel all the darkness from your life & you be blessed with love & happiness. May your path always be lit. Jai Shri Ram.”
Indian cricket team captain Kohli also had a message for fans on how to celebrate Diwali by choosing light over the noise. “This Diwali, let’s change things up,” tweeted Kohli along with a promotional video.
Five-time World Amateur Boxing champion Mary Kom also wished fans on the occasion of Diwali and requested to stay safe. “Happy #Diwali.Stay safe and #greendiwali. keep our cities pollution free. #HappyDiwali #GoGreen #nocrackers.” She wrote.
Similarly, Sachin Tendulkar, yesterday had shared his message as well.
“Diwali is about spending time with your loved ones. One message to all, please take care senior citizens and animals while celebrating the festival of lights”, Tendulkar said in a video message.
