Launched by BJP party chief Amit Shah to mark four years of the Narendra Modi Government, Sampark for Samarthan (Contact for Support) is an exercise initiated keeping the upcoming 2019 Lok Sabha elections in mind. Under this campaign, BJP president Shah had also met Army chief General Dalbir Singh Suhag, former India captain Kapil Dev, former chief justice of India RC Lahoti and yoga guru Baba Ramdev.
As part of the ‘Sampark for Samarthan’ programme, about 4,000 BJP functionaries, including chief ministers, union ministers and panchayat members across the country will contact one lakh people who are eminent in their fields.
The BJP chief himself is planning to meet over 50 renowned people or opinion makers, he will also seek their support for the 2019 Lok Sabha polls.
