Some of the members of playing 11 have been part of the India 'A' squad playing against Australia 'A' in the unofficial Tests in India. In what would be great news for captain Gill, Indian batters KL Rahul and Sai Sudharsan came up with scintillating centuries to warm up for the Windies Tests.

India 'A' were set 412 runs to win after being bundled out for 194 in the first innings. The home side chased down the target for the loss of just 5 wickets and in 91.3 overs to clinch the two-match series 1-0 after the first game had ended in a draw.

Rahul notched up a brilliant unbeaten 176 off 210 balls with 4 sixes and 16 fours. The Delhi Capitals batter had retired hurt on 74 on the evening of Day 3 but returned to bat after the fall of night-watchman Manav Suthar for 5.

Rahul teamed up with Gujarat Titans batter Sai Sudharsan to set Indian chase on track. Sudharsan moved along to his 100 off 172 balls with 9 fours and one six.

India 'A' skipper Dhruv Jurel then put on a century partnership with Rahul to all but complete a remarkable chase. Jurel, who was appointed skipper in place of Shreyas Iyer for the second India 'A' game vs Australia 'A', scored 56 off 66 balls with three sixes and five fours.

Rahul and Jurel put on 115 runs for the 5th wicket in only 19 overs to put India 'A' on the doorstep of victory. When Jurel departed after his half-century, only 31 runs were needed for win.

Team India and Sunrisers Hyderabad all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy scored an unbeaten 16 off 14 balls with 3 fours to complete the formality. Reddy has returned from injury and is back in the Indian Test squad for the West Indies series.

The action between India A and Australia A will now shift to Lucknow to Kanpur for the three-match one-day series, with the first game to be played on September 30. Shreyas Iyer will be back to lead the India 'A' side for the series.
