It seems the future is here!

NBA Finals is going to witness a never-seen-before technology that promises to take fans closer to action with a new feature for its augmented reality app: 360 Portals. It hit the floor just ahead of the fourth straight NBA Finals matchup between the Cavaliers and the Warriors. The technology is so swift that it brings fans team huddles, player introductions and postgame celebrations. This certainly seems to be the future.

We have seen such kind of technology used in Pro Kabaddi League as well.

Here is a video that will explain exactly what we have spoken about:

“360 Portals will bring NBA fans behind the scenes and onto the court, providing a new way to experience the game through augmented reality,” Melissa Rosenthal Brenner, NBA EVP of digital media, said in a press release. “We hope fans around the world check out the NBA AR app throughout the Finals for a unique perspective on our biggest event of the year.”

We are certain fans of NBA would fall in love with the new technology.

AR seems to be the in-thing. It seems it has left virtual reality way behind in this race. But will it last the test of time or not needs to be seen. On Wednesday, the NBA also unveiled an Instagram filter that permits users to add in a cartoon dunk scene to their video clips. This should certainly excite the young NBA fans who get wowed by dunks and slam dunks are surely a thing to witness at the NBA.
