New Delhi: Star India all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy has been part of the playing XI for the ongoing first Test against the West Indies. On Day 3 of the first Test at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad, he made a mark by taking a spectacular flying catch to dismiss West Indies opener Tagenarine Chanderpaul. Chanderpaul was dismissed for an 11 ball duck in the first innings, while he managed to score only 8 runs off 23 balls in the second innings.
On the second delivery of the eighth over in West Indies second innings, Nitish took the catch off Mohammed Siraj’s delivery. The video of Nitish’s stunning catch, which added another wicket to Siraj’s account, is now going viral online.

Reddy, who smashed his maiden Test century for India last year at Melbourne Cricket Ground against Australia, did not get an opportunity to bat in the first innings as India declared their innings before his turn.
India declared their first innings at 448 for 5, holding a commanding lead of 286 runs over the West Indies at the start of the third day of the opening Test on Saturday.
India’s first innings consisted three centuries from KL Rahul (100), Dhruv Jurel (125), and Ravindra Jadeja (104*). The decision to declare overnight was aimed at taking advantage of any assistance the morning pitch might provide.
