Meanwhile, Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif is set to host a reception for the Under-19 team to celebrate their Asia Cup 2025 win. The team got a warm reception at Islamabad airport which was usually reserved only for senior teams. The Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and Asian Cricket Council (ACC) President, Mohsin Naqvi, has already declared the win as a major achievement for the game in the country.

On Sunday, opener Sameer Minhas slammed 172 in the final and pacer Ali Reza had claimed four wickets. They are both being hailed as ‘finds’ for Pakistan cricket.

The PCB chairman, also the Federal Minister for Interior affairs, has been at the centre of a massive tussle between India and Pakistan since the senior Asia Cup 2025 earlier this year. Suryakumar Yadav;s Team India had refused to accept the winners trophy from him on September 28 in Dubai.

The trophy still remains in the ACC offices in Dubai with the matter unresolved as Naqvi has insisted that the Indians have to accept the trophy from him in a media-covered event. According to media reports, Naqvi has announced cash prizes of PKR five million each for the junior team players, which is rare in history of Pakistan cricket.

Teen prodigy Vaibhav Suryavanshi failed with the bat, scoring 26 off 10 balls with 3 sixes and 1 four and the Indians faltered in the chase after entering the Under-19 Asia Cup 2025 final with an all-win record.
