New Delhi: India achieved a crucial breakthrough in the Asia Cup 2025 final being played at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha was dismissed by Kuldeep Yadav, but the real highlight of the wicket was Sanju Samson’s brilliant catch that turned the match around.
Kuldeep Yadav kept Pakistan under pressure with his spin. Salman Ali Agha mistimed his shot while attempting to hit the ball, and the ball went high in the air. The ball was pitched high, with Jasprit Bumrah at mid-wicket, but wicketkeeper Sanju Samson took charge. He ran a long way, dived to his left, and took the catch with his arms outstretched. This catch reminded the spectators of MS Dhoni and is being considered the turning point of the match.
In a press conference a day before the final, Agha had clearly stated that he would not stop his players from expressing their emotions. He said, “Every player has the right to express their emotions, as long as they’re not disrespectful.”

Salman Ali Agha has managed to score just 64 runs in six matches so far in the Asia Cup 2025. He himself admitted that his strike rate hasn’t met expectations. The pressure of captaincy and continued failure are making things difficult for his team.
Agha also said he doesn’t care about the Indian media. However, his poor shot in the final and Samson’s charismatic catch proved a major blow for Pakistan.
