Men’s Hockey World Cup: With the Men’s Hockey World Cup slated to begin later this month, Odisha is leaving no stone unturned in building up for the mega event. The latest ‘cheer up’ song was released this Wednesday which is in the local Odia language, to give the feel of the place. “Every Cup needs a song. Here is one for Odisha,” tweeted @sports_odisha, the official account of the Sports and Youth Services Department, Government of Odisha.

The song is based on Sambalpuri rhythm which features dancers from the famous dance forms of Odisha — Odissi and Sambalpuri. It is colourful and vibrant and has the right tempo and could become an instant hit among fans.
The song is titled “Asa Kariba Bobbal, Odisha Naa Heba Global,” and the song has been sung by Mika Singh.

The 16-team World Cup begins on November 28, with the final on December 16.
