Star India batting stalwart Virat Kohli returned to India on Tuesday following a Four-month break, ahead of the three-match ODI series against Australis.

New Delhi: Star India batter Virat Kohli arrived back in the country on Tuesday following a four-month break, ahead of India’s ODI series against Australia. Spotted at the New Delhi airport, Kohli moved quickly through the terminal, offering fans little time for selfies before making his way directly to his car to join the team.

After the conclusion of IPL 2025 where Royal Challengers Bengaluru won their maiden title, Kohli traveled to London with his wife, Anushka Sharma, and their two children Vamika and Akaay. Kohli announced his retirement from Test cricket in mid-May, ahead of the India’s summer tour of England.

Kohli last played for India in Champions Trophy

Kohli last represented Indian in the Champions Trophy earlier this year. He will make his return to the international cricket in the three-match ODI series against Australia

Although chief selector Ajit Agarkar refrained from clarifying on the long-term plans for Kohli and Rohit Sharma ahead of the ODI World Cup, their selection for the Australia series hinted at a “perform or perish” situation. India’s new ODI captain, Shubman Gill, however, put such concerns to rest, highlighting the pair’s experience and match-winning skills as crucial for India’s 2027 World Cup campaign.

Talking about Kohli’s stats against Australia in ODI’s, he has scored 2,451 runs in 50 matches at an average of 54.46, which includes 8 centuries and 15 half centuries.
