Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan has heaped praise on Trinbago Knight Riders, his franchise in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) after they came out with an all-round display to beat St Kitts & Nevis Patriots in the ongoing edition of the league.
Defending champions Trinbago Knight Riders rode on a fine half-century of Colin Munro as they continued to uphold their role in the three-horse race for the regular season CPL crown, rejoining Jamaica Tallawahs and Guyana Amazon Warriors at the top of the table after defeating St Kitts & Nevis Patriots by 46 runs at Warner Park.
Munro’s consistency propelled the Knight Riders to another win as the 31-year-old notched his fourth fifty in seven matches before skipper Dwayne Bravo raided the Patriots attack with a whirlwind knock that included five successive sixes off Alzarri Joseph in the 19th over to put the target well out of reach for the Patriots.
“It’s well worth keeping awake when our team Trinbago Knight Riders play such an all-round game. Well done boys keep doing what you doing…& the think tank keep thinking as you are thinking!!” tweeted Shah Rukh Khan.
Trinbago Knight Riders, currently placed at the top of the table with 10 points, will next play against Guyana Amazon Warriors on September 5.
