India captain Virat Kohli is the No 1 batsman in the world for a reason! Kohli can read the bowlers mind better than most and can foresee things which others cannot and that is what separates him from the rest. The world got a glimpse of that during the Ranchi ODI where Kohli slammed his 41st century. Kohli smashed a superb 95-ball 123. But, there was a moment in the match which many may not have noticed but was picked up on the stump mic. It was when Kohli was batting with Kedar Jadhav. Jadhav was fining the going tough against the spin of Zampa, that is when Kohli advised Kedar to wait for a short ball as the Indian captain must have felt that was coming. Kedar obliged, he waited as Zampa banged one short. The middle-order batsman was all over it as he smashed it for a boundary. The convo was picked up on stump mic and then the video surfaced on the internet.

Here is the video:

Kohli said, ”Yeh piche bhi ball dega”, which means he will bowl one short. Unfortunately, Kohli’s ton went in vain as India suffered a 32-run defeat at Ranchi. The Men in Blue will look to seal the series at Mohali where they will play the 4th ODI. Australia, on the other hand, would be hoping they can force a decider.

Meanwhile, Kohli will be chasing a world record at Mohali. If he slams a ton, it will be his second hattrick of centuries. Last year, he became the first Indian cricketer to hit three consecutive centuries, he did it against Windies at home.
