New Delhi: Indian women’s cricket team star opener Smriti Mandhana has once again made history with her bat. In a powerful innings against Sri Lanka in the fourth T20 match, she not only gave the team a strong start but also achieved the significant milestone of completing 10,000 runs in international cricket.

Historic innings against Sri Lanka

In the match played at the Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram, Smriti Mandhana played a brilliant innings of 80 runs off 48 balls. During this innings, she hit 11 fours and three sixes, thrilling the spectators.

Record partnership with Shafali

Mandhana, along with young batter Shafali Verma, added 162 runs for the first wicket. This partnership became the highest for any wicket for the Indian women’s team in T20 International cricket. Shafali also played a quickfire innings of 79 runs.

The same mindset even after 10,000 runs

After this historic achievement, Smriti Mandhana clearly stated that every match is a new beginning. She said there is no bonus for past performance in cricket, and every time a batter has to start from scratch.
