India beat West Indies by 7 wickets in a league match of the Women’s ODI World Cup in Taunton on Thursday. Set a target of 184 for a win, India took 42.3 overs to make 186 for 3. The top scorer for India was Smriti Mandhana who made 106 not out off 108 balls while opening the batting. Mithali Raj meanwhile made 46.
For West Indies, Stefanie Taylor had figures of 1 for 24.
Earlier, put into bat, West Indies made 183 for the loss of 8 wickets in their allotted 50 overs. Top scoring for the West Indies was opener Hayley Matthews who made 43. Also playing a hand was Afy Fletcher who made 36 not out off 23 balls. It was a fine innings coming in at number 9.

Poonam Yadav was the pick of the bowlers who had figures of 2 for 19.
Looking at the all-important points table in the World Cup, India are at the top, having 4 points in the bag. New Zealand and South Africa are close on the heels, having 3 points each.
