Hailed as one of the brightest prospects in the world of football – Frenchman Kylian Mbappe, who plays as a winger has it all under his belt – skills, technique and plenty of goals. From a very young age – Mbappe has been defying odds and surpassing the records set by some of the legends of the game. Recently, his goals tally added up to 73 goals – 14 ahead of the Brazilian legend Ronaldo Nazario de Lima.

At 20, Brazilian Ronaldo had scored 59 goals and had also won the FIFA Player of The Year. While, Mbappe too, has won the ‘Ligue 1 young player of the year’ twice, amongst several other awards throughout his career so far. Former England international Micheal Owen is third on the list (51 goals), followed by Lionel Messi (30 goals) at fourth and Cristiano Ronaldo at fifth (21 goals).

This is not the first time the starlet has broken a record. The 20-year-old teen sensation Mbappe took the 21st edition of the FIFA World Cup by storm as he claimed the ‘Best Young Player of The Tournament Award’ at the coveted event in Russia. The Paris Saint-German (PSG) star also registered history by becoming the youngest footballer to score in the World Cup finals since Brazilian legend, Pele.

After his stellar performance in the World Cup, where he netted four goals, Mbappe was given the iconic number seven shirt this season at his club, PSG. Previously, he had donned the number-29 jersey he was given during the last term in his first campaign with the club.

Mbappe became the world’s second-most expensive player when he moved from Monaco to Paris Saint-Germain for a whopping price of 180 million euros. He is second to his teammate, Brazillian international Neymar (222 million euros) in the all-time list of most expensive players.
