India had another great day at World Para Athletics Championships as high jumpers Sharad Kumar and Varun Singh Bhati clinched silver and bronze medal respectively.

Meanwhile, Bhati managed a jump of 1.77m. Both Sharad and Bhati are acknowledged as the top high jumpers, and last year, in the Paralympics held in Rio de Janeiro, Bhati had finished third, while the gold medal was clinched by Bhati’s compatriot Mariyappan Thangavelu.

Earlier, Sundar Singh Gurjar opened India’s account in the competition by winning gold in the men’s javelin throw event. Two days later, Amit Saroha added to the tally by clinching the silver medal in the club throw event in the F-51 category. While, discus thrower Karamjyoti Dalal secured a bronze medal in the Women’s F55 category, on Saturday.
