Although, the spotlight would be grabbed by Shane McMahon and Undertaker in their high-profile ‘Hell in a Cell’ match-up, observers believe that ‘Brock Lesnar vs Dean Ambrose street fight’ would turn out to be ‘show-stealer’ of the night. The character of Dean Ambrose has been carefully constructed by the WWe creative. Although, predictors believe that the ‘lunatic fringe’ would end up losing the match against Lesnar, it would be the greatest push for his storied career in the WWE. The match between Lesnar and Ambrose reminisces the historic encounter between Mick Foley and Undertaker at King of the Ring 1998. Although, Taker ended up winning the match, it was Foley who was awarded the well-deserved title of ‘Hardcore Legend’.
Has WWE found its own ‘hardcore hak’?
Throughout the ‘attitude era’ of WWE, freestyle hardcore wrestling emerged as the most intriguing in-ring segments of the show. Though, it is very popular among wrestling fans, the company has always relied on ECW stars to go extreme in the ring. With Dean Ambrose, WWE can finally claim that they have their own hardcore honcho. Although, Ambrose had a violent history of CZW, it was in WWE, where he finally turned into a recognizable wrestler.
Paul Heyman, known as the evil-genius in the world of professional wrestling believes that the match with Lesnar is the most crucial point of Ambrose’s career. “I think Dean Ambrose will emerge from WrestleMania a far bigger star than he is walking into WrestleMania because he has the unique opportunity to brag to people that he took a WrestleMania beating at the hands of Brock Lesnar,” he said during an interview with news website ign.com. Heyman currently plays the on-screen manager of Lesnar.
