It was one hell of an evening at the much-hyped world wrestling entertainment (WWE) Crown Jewel event which took place in the middle eastern desert (Saudi Arabia) on Friday. Many former renowned WWE stars lit up the stage as rolled back the golden years of the sport with a thoroughly entertaining display of drama, wrestling and entertainment. Brock Lesnar recaptured the WWE Universal Championship by defeating Braun Strowman in a one-on-one contest. In the marquee clash of the night, Lesnar showcased his patent F5 move five times on the brawny Strowman to win the encounter. While, in the other match, yesteryears superstar Shawn Michaels came back from retirement and reformed D-Generation X with Triple H to take on The Undertaker and Kane in a Tag Team Match. For the majority of the contest, The Brothers of Destruction (Undertaker and Kane) had an upper hand but Michaels recovered well in time and helped his team to post a memorable win. This was probably the last time the fans might have witnessed the legendary duo of Michaels and Triple H in the ring together. In another event, Shane McMahon won the WWE World Cup match. He defeated Dolph Ziggler to lift the WWE World Cup. Just before the event, The Miz was deemed unfit and he was replaced by none other than Shane McMahon for the final, who defeated Ziggler to win the coveted crown.

In a match of contrasting style, the charismatic AJ Styles defeated powerful Samoa Joe to retain the WWE Championship. Joe lost another opportunity win the title after losing to Styles in the title match.

Veteran wrestler Rey Mysterio also picked up a surprising win over Randy Orton in the first match of the evening. After the match, Orton attacked Mysterio and ensured that he wasn’t 100% for his next match of the night.

The Miz defeated Jeff Hardy – Despite having an upper hand at one stage, Hardy failed to land the finishing move that gave Miz the opportunity to win the contest and qualify for the next round of WWE World Cup.

Seth Rollins defeated Bobby Lashley – In another surprise, Rollins defeated Lashley.

Dolph Ziggler defeated Kurt Angle – The quickness of Ziggler was on display in his first match of the evening, where he got past the Olympic gold-medallist Kurt Angle. Angle dominated the major part of the match but Ziggler ended up as the winner.

The Miz defeated Rey Mysterio – Following his win over Jeff Hardy, The Miz carried the momentum in the next match as he picked up a win over Mysterio to qualify for the semi-final of WWE World Cup.

Dolph Ziggler defeated Seth Rollins – A push from McIntyre from over the top saw Ziggler getting an upper hand and he pinned Rollins to pick up the win. That wasn’t surely the best performance from him as he got support from his partner.
