World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE)’s poster boy John Cena beat Randy Orton in a pulsating match in special event ‘Hell in a Cell’ to earn the No 1 contender title. Cena is now the No 1 contender for the World Heavyweight Championship.
The event had a series of mouth-watering clashes, featuring some of the best in the business like Cena, Orton and the Miz. What kept the WWE fans engrossed were the old timers, which included powerhouses Big Show and Mark Henry. While the ‘World’s Strongest Man’ Mark Henry hardly broke into a sweat in brushing the big talking Bo Dallas, Big Show lost to the hulking Russian, Rusev.
Pitted against each in a ring that had all of 800 pounds battling against each other, momentum swung back and forth but Big Show looked to have Rusev on the mat. However, Rusev overpowered the World’s biggest athlete despite Mark Henry coming on later in the game to aid his friend and the ‘Áccolade’ would prove to be too strong for Big Show.
There were other interesting battles too. The first two stars to step in the cage were Dolph Ziggler and Cesaro, vying for the Intercontinental Championship in a two-out-of-three-falls match. Ziggler got off to a good start, getting the first pin on Cesaro but the latter hit back strongly in the second battle before the blond wrestler had the last laugh. Sheamus was unstoppable against The Miz and walked away with the United States Championship and AJ Lee’s flexibility and guile would prove to be too much for Paige in the WWE Divas Championship.
The main event had Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose and this marathon battle had all the drama to be talked about over the ages. It even saw veteran Superstar, Kane enter the ring at one point and the ‘Big red machine’ opened a fire extinguisher on Rollins. Bryan Wyatt’s interference though, sealed the tie and Rollins walked away with the match and taunted Ambrose to pull down curtains on the show.
