Former WWE Champion Rey Mysterio took to Twitter on Tuesday to celebrate reaching a massive career milestone — 30 years in the professional wrestling business. Three decades ago, as of April 30, the former WWE World Champion made his debut in the business.
Today, the 44-year-old still goes strong and his one of the most decorated wrestlers in the business. Mysterio enjoys a huge fan base in the sector all across the globe.
“On this day at age 14 I made my debut and it’s a very special day in Mexico,” Mysterio tweeted. “‘Dia del nino’ ‘Day of the Kid’ if I had the opportunity to re live these 30 yrs I would do it all over again. Thank you to all my fans!! Much love and respect,” he wrote on Twitter.
Earlier last year, Mysterio signed a two-year contract with WWE after being out of the company for a while. He initially returned for the company’s special pay-per-view ‘The Greatest Royal Rumble’ which took place in Saudi Arabia, where he received rapturous applause on his entrance.
Following that, WWE finalised a deal with him for a full-time return.
He has won several titles in the company including the likes of World Heavyweight Championship (twice), the WWE Championship, the Cruiserweight Championship (three times), the Intercontinental Championship (twice) the WWE Tag Team Championships (four times) and the 2006 Royal Rumble.
Mysterio still triggers nostalgia among followers of wrestling entertainment who were born in mid-1990s, as they have grown up watching the high-flying charismatic icon.
