Daniel Cormier’s historic first-round knockout victory over Stipe Miocic made him the second fighter in UFC history to hold two titles simultaneously. In an interview, Cormier said he received a text message from WWE Superstar Seth Rollins.
The UFC Heavyweight Champion and UFC Light Heavyweight Champion added that ‘The Kingslayer’ also urged him to go and “kick Brock’s a**” when they meet inside the ring for a UFC Match.
According to Express UK, Cormier has some history with ‘The Architect’ Seth Rollins as he celebrated his Money in the Bank cash-in at WrestleMania 31 which helped him win the WWE Championship from Lesnar.
Cormier told Denise Salcedo of Instinct Culture: “Maybe that’s why he’s so mad at me; because I’m friends with Seth Rollins. I got a text message from Seth right after the fight. He goes ‘Congratulations, now go kick Brock’s a**.’ That is what I’m gonna do.”
The Universal Champion confronted Cormier at UFC and pushed the new two-division champion before delivering an outburst.
World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) confirmed that ‘The Beast’ is scheduled to defend his WWE Universal title in ‘the biggest event of the summer’ WWE Summer Slam on August 19 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
Bobby Lashley and Roman Reigns will go head to head in the upcoming fixture of Monday night RAW to determine who will face Lesnar at the Summer Slam event.
