Every year on Republic Day, a grand parade is held at Rajpath in New Delhi. This year, South African president Cyril Ramaphosa graced the occasion as the chief guest. After Nelson Mandela, Mr. Ramaphosa is the second South African President to be the chief guest to India’s Republic Day.

Mr. Ramaphosa was accompanied by First Lady Dr. Tshepo Motsepe and a high-level delegation of nine ministers and a large business delegation.

Fifty-eight tribal guests from various parts of the country, 22 tableaux of states and central government departments, and performance by school children was also a part of the 90-minute Republic Day parade on Saturday.
