WWE TLC 2015: Roman Reigns Thank You

Reigns overpowered Sheamus, Alberto Del Rio and Rusev in the same night; then went on to smash Triple H through the table!

Dec 14: World Wrestling Entertainment’s December PPV TLC just finished its telecast. The review is out and finally the creative team decided to unleash the Roman Reigns. The Tables Ladders and Chairs main event between Reigns and Sheamus for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship ended with Sheamus getting the victory thanks to Alberto Del Rio and Rusev’s interference. However, even if Roman lost the matchup and consequently could not retain his championship he emerged out a fan favorite. Reigns speared the League of Nations after the match and cleaned house by bashing them with a steel chair. He did not stop there as WWE’s COO Triple H accompanied by wife Stephanie McMahon came to mollify the Samoan Warrior only to beaten down by the steel chair in hand. He finished The Game out by powerbombing him through the announce table.

The best part about this is the fact that the viewers finally got to see the bestial strength of Reigns, unlike the previous few weeks. Roman Reigns has so far been portrayed as the underdog in his current solo run and that did not match with his sheer size and physique. The wrestler is a brawler and his WWE World Heavyweight Championship match with Brock Lesner or his Last Man Standing Match against Big Show are good examples of the wrestler’s capabilities. The creative decided to take a risk and make Roman Reigns break his routine and the result: fans loved. (Also Read: WWE: Is Roman Reigns another John Cena in the making?)

The fans were lethargic throughout the match and after the match: they could not stop screaming and lauding Roman Reigns’ name. They chanted “Thank You Roman Reigns” as the show ended. The gimmick, thanks to the beatdown that Triple H received and also due to the display of strength. Roman Reigns successfully pulled off his good guy gone mad character and fans reveled in it.

Other than the main event and Roman Reigns, TLC had its own share of great matches including the opener TLC styled 6 man tag team match between Usos, Lucha Dragons and New Day. However, the show so far has been the best thing which WWE has done with Roman Reigns and Sheamus.
