Veteran Rey Mysterio and women’s wrestler Dana Brooke are set to miss Wrestlemania 36 scheduled for April 4 and 5 in WWE’s Performance Center with the duo being quarantined amid Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Also Read - Road Dogg, WWE Hall of Famer, Hospitalised After Heart Attack

Mysterio was originally slated to feature in a championship match for the United States Championship against the holder Andrade. Earlier, plans had the title being defended in a fatal four-way with Mysterio going against Andrade, Humberto Carillo and angel Garza, but the idea was shelved. However, with the latest development, it is unlikely that the US Championship will be defended at all at the event. Also Read - The Great Khali to be Inducted Into WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2021

“This came out of nowhere. There were a lot of different ideas, multiple different ideas for US title match. From last week, the main idea was probably going to be Andrade and Rey. Rey is also in quarantine so he’s off the show. You’ve got to be safe rather than sorry for sure,” noted pro-wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer said in his podcast. Brooke, who was set to compete in a Six-Pack Elimination Match for the SmackDown Women’s Championship, has also been pulled from the match.

“Dana Brooke was in the match, she is now out of the match,” Meltzer said. “She’s in quarantine right now. They don’t want to take any chances. They pulled her from the match because she’s sick. They are concerned, so there you go. She’s in quarantine,” added Meltzer.

Wrestlemania 36 was moved from Tampa Florida to WWE’s Performance Center in Orlando and will air on Saturday, April 4th and Sunday, April 5th (Sunday and Monday India time) and can be streamed on the WWE Network.
