WWE Hall of Famer appeared on Friday Night Smackdown via satellite and revealed everyone about his intentions of facing The Fiend Bray Wyatt for the Universal Championship, a title he won back in 2017 but never got a rematch after losing to Brock Lesnar. The bumper match for WWE Super Showdown was made official when Wyatt, dressed as a news anchor, accepted the challenge.
Carmella overcame Alexa Bliss, Dana Brooke and a returning Naomi by winning a Fatal-4-Way match in the main-event and being named the No.1 contender of the Smackdown Women’s championship. Bliss tried to hit Naomi with the Twisted Bliss, but the Glow blocked it and hit the former champion with the Read End. However, an opportunist Carmella came from behind and hit her with a Super Kick to complete the referee’s three count. After the match Bayley, the reigning champion, seated at ringside, attacked the Princess of Staten Island as the show ended.
Earlier, the Usos picked up a win over their adversaries Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode, whereas King Corbin humiliated a fan at ringside which led to one final match between him and Roman Reigns. Corbin poured beer on a fan who was laughing at what transpired last week – when the former King of the Ring Winner was covered with Dog Food. Reigns emerged to strike Corbin before he escaped the arena, but the Big Dog laid out a challenge of a Steel Cage match next week.
A four-on-one attack from The Revival and Shinsuke Nakamura and Sami Zayn helped unsettled Braun Strowman in his first week on Smackdown as the Intercontinental champion. During an in-ring interview to Renee Young, Nakamura and Zayn interrupted the Monster Among Men and as they continued to yap, the former tag champs jumped Strowman from behind. He fought off Dash and Dawson but Nakamura hit not one, but two Kinshasa to lay him out flat.
