New Delhi: India’s rising star Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s rapid growth has stunned the Oman players. He has been in an impressive form at the ongoing Asia Cup Rising star, as he smashed a brilliant 144 off just 42 balls against the UAE, followed by a solid 45 off 28 against Pakistan. His 32-ball century against the UAE  at Doha equalled Rishabh Pant’s record for the joint-fastest hundred in men’s T20s.

The 14-year-old grabbed attention in IPL 2025 after the left-hander shocked everyone with a century against the Gujarat Titans. His 35-ball ton became the second-fastest in the history of what many consider the toughest T20 league. He carried his outstanding form into the England tour, smashing 143 off 78 balls, the quickest hundred in Youth ODIs. Before landing his first IPL deal, he had also smashed a 58-ball century in a four-day match against Australia Under-19.

Oman Players revealed they were shocked by Vaibhav’s six hitting power

Oman’s Aryan Bisht and Samay Shrivastava said they were amazed by Vaibhav and couldn’t believe how a 14-year-old could smash such towering sixes.

“We’ve only seen Vaibhav Suryavanshi on TV, and now we’ll be playing against him,” said Aryan Bisht in an interview with Times of India. “When you’re 14 and you’re able to hit the ball that far, that’s just exceptional talent. It’s something not everybody can do — definitely something I couldn’t do at that age. 14 saal ke ho, kaise maarte ho ye chakke? [At 14, how are you smashing those sixes?] He’s really talented and very good, so I’m really looking forward to playing against him.”

Samay said that facing Suryavanshi will be a valuable experience

Shrivastava, who previously represented Madhya Pradesh before shifting to Oman, said that facing Vaibhav will be a valuable learning experience.

“It’s a great opportunity to meet him. I just want to know his mindset about cricket,” he said. “He’s only 14 and he’s already doing so well for his cricket and for India. The way he hits those big sixes is extraordinary. I really want to meet him and talk to him.”
