New Delhi: The 12-digit unique identification number called Aadhaar is issued by UIDAI to Indians. Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) creates this database which contains biometric and demographic data. Recently, the linking of Aadhaar card with PAN card has been made mandatory. Therefore the demographic details on both the cards should match.
Follow the steps below to update your Address on Aadhaar card:
Step 1: To update the address log in to the Aadhaar self-service Portal. If you have registered your mobile number on Aadhaar, you will receive a one time password for login.
Step 2: Enter your recent and correct address.
Step 3: Upload valid documents as proof including passport, voter id, ration card or telephone bill that is not older than three months.
Step 4: Submit a request and save Update request number.
Note: You can also update your address via Address Validation Letter sent by UIDAI. In such a case, users have to request for address validation letter from an Address Lender/Verifier. The verifier could be a family member, relative, friend or landlord of the resident. Users have to log in with Aadhaar, enter the Secret Code on the letter, preview their updated Address and then submit and save URN.
Here is how to update mobile number and name on Aadhaar card:
Step 1: Visit an Enrolment/Update Center to update biometric and demographic data such as name, date of birth, gender, relation, mobile and E-mail. The nearest enrolment centre can be found in the ‘Locate Enrolment Center’ on the official website: uidai.gov.in.
Updating details on your Aadhar by online or through the post is free. However, those who get help in an enrolment centre have to pay Rs. 25/- (excluding taxes) to the service provider for every visit made to update the details.
