Apple has recently started sale of the iPhone 6 32 GB in offline stores through their retailers and distributors. While not all stores have the device so far, it is available across certain regions in the country. While there is nothing special about the phone, Apple never launched the iPhone 6 in India in the 32 GB version. it is only after 2 years that the 32 GB version of the device has been sneakily launched in the country. Officially, Apple has priced the iPhone 6 at Rs Rs. 30,700 but Amazon India offered the phone at a discount. Considering offline retailers often try to match online retailers when it comes to payments or giving discounts, iPhone 6 32 GB will be available for Rs 28,999 or approximately the same value in offline stores too. The interesting part is, Apple has already officially discontinued iPhone 6 in the country and iPhone SE is the cheapest variant of the phone post which we directly have the iPhone 6s. It is perhaps Apple wanted to bridge the gap in the country and introduce a device into the presently unoccupied mid-range segment. While initially, there was a lot of hesitation while buying the device as there were fears of the phone not being an original Apple device, with the new offline sales, fears are expected to be assuaged. Apple is looking at tapping the mid-range segment in India and expanding their reach in the country. Apple has also slashed the price of iPhone SE and brought it down to Rs 19,999. iPhone SE is now the cheapest iPhone in the country. While Apple bumped off all previous iPhone models except for iPhone 6s with the launch of iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, they did retain the iPhone SE which was officially the cheapest of the iPhones in the country. The 16 GB iPhone SE model now costs Rs 19999 while the 64 GB model is priced at Rs 25,999. However, the catch is, the discount is applicable only on certain debit and credit cards.
