California – June 10, 2025: Apple has officially previewed iOS 26, a significant upgrade for the iPhone experience, promising a refined design, deeper integration of Apple Intelligence, and powerful new features across core apps like Phone, Messages, CarPlay, Maps, and Wallet.
At the heart of iOS 26 is a stunning new design centered around “Liquid Glass” — a translucent, responsive material that reflects its surroundings to enhance clarity and focus. This dynamic look reimagines app icons, widgets, the Lock Screen, and Home Screen, bringing more personalization than ever before. Features like spatial wallpapers with 3D effects and a fluidly adapting time display create a more engaging and expressive interface.
Apple Intelligence continues to evolve in iOS 26. Users can now access Live Translation directly within Phone, FaceTime, and Messages, enabling seamless cross-language communication with on-device processing for added privacy. New visual intelligence tools allow users to interact with content on-screen—searching for similar images or adding calendar events—using simple voice prompts.
Messages and Phone see meaningful enhancements. Messages now support screening of unknown senders, custom backgrounds, in-chat polls, and Apple Cash transfers in group chats. Phone introduces a unified layout, Call Screening to help filter unwanted calls, and Hold Assist, which alerts users when a customer service representative becomes available.
CarPlay, used over 600 million times daily, gets a facelift with a compact call view, support for pinned chats and Tapbacks in Messages, and dynamic widgets. These improvements carry over to CarPlay Ultra, which offers seamless integration across all in-car displays.
Apple Music gains Lyrics Translation and Pronunciation, making global music more accessible. AutoMix enables DJ-style transitions between tracks. Meanwhile, Apple Maps introduces “Visited Places” with private, on-device logging and route predictions based on daily habits.
Wallet is enhanced with installment options for Apple Pay and redesigned boarding passes featuring real-time flight updates and smart integrations with Maps and Find My.
Other additions include the all-new Apple Games app, enriched AirPods features like voice isolation and camera remote, expanded child safety tools, and broader accessibility capabilities such as Braille Access and a customizable system-wide reader.
With iOS 26, Apple combines bold aesthetics with intelligent functionality to redefine how users interact with their iPhones-delivering a more intuitive, secure, and personalized experience across the board.
