CES 2017 has finally kicked off and right on day one, there are some heavy launches scheduled. Lenovo has kicked off CES right before the actual event begins with a range of launches and some upgrades to its existing series. While these are the pre-CES launches, there are other launches scheduled for later during the event too. Consumer Electronics show or CES is one of the largest consumer gadgets show of its kind in the world. Every imaginable gadgets from wearables, AI to laptops and smartphones make a debut at CES each year. The show also gives us a look into the future of technology and how the upcoming year is expected to fare in terms of events, launches and the technology to be used in gadgets. 2017 looks to be a big year for AI or Artificial Intelligence and the trend is already in place with multiple events and conferences centered around AI during the duration of CES 2017. Coming back to Lenovo, in their pre-CES launches, Lenovo launched not only a range of laptops but have also launched AI based smart home assistant, keypads and other devices. One of the most famous and largest running Lenovo Laptop series, ThinkPad series, which are aimed at professionals are upgraded with the latest software versions. The upgrades have come to Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Yoga, Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon and Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Tablet. All the three ThinkPad series devices have been upgraded to the latest software and there are also some other tweaks Lenovo has made to the laptops. The laptops have been made sleeker and the form factor is also more convenient for portability. Additionally, Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Yoga is the only 14-inch OLED notebook in the market in its category giving Lenovo the advantage over others in the segment. Let us take a look at the revamped features and specifications of the new Lenovo ThinkPad range. The Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Yoga comes with latest seventh-generation Intel Core Kaby Lake processors under the hood, giving the device much better power. As mentioned above, the display is a 14-inch OLED display with touch screen. Despite the larger display size, the tablet is compact and the form factor is easy to use. The notebook, like all other Yoga series devices is flexible meaning it comes with the stabdard 360 degree hinge allowing the laptop display to be turned completely back and be used as a tablet. Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Yoga promises 15 hours of power. The laptop boasts of 2 Thunderbolt 3 ports. There is a new rechargeable pen-ThinkPad Pen Pro (2017) to doodle on the laptop. The starting price of Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Yoga is $1499 and the device is expected to go on sale sometime in February. Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon notebook has gone through a tough diet the past year, making it one of the lightest notebooks in its class. The 5th generation notebookcomes with Intel’s seventh-generation Core processors under the hood and boasts of 16 GB RAM. Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon comes with multiple connectivity options, including an HDMI port, two USB 3.0 ports and two USB Type-C ports. The display is a 14-inch screen available in WQHD as well as Full HD resolutions with price variations. The battery life of the laptop has been given a major boost and battery now lasts nearly 5 hours extra, at 15.5 hours life. Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon is also high on security and features biometric login with fingerprint scanner and infrared camera with facial recognition support. The laptop is priced in the international market at $1349 and once again, there no word on the Indian launch though internationally, Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon is expected to go on sale in February. Lenovo K6 Power vs Redmi Note 3 – Which is the better device in terms of specifications?

The third and the final in the ThinkPad series is the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Tablet. ThinkPad X1 Tablet which is their convertible 2-in1 tablet has been upgraded. The display is a 12 inch 2K display. Under the hood run seventh generation Intel Core processors, in the most advanced version. The tablet which is a Windows tablet offers stiff competition to Microsoft Surface series. Most other features and specifications are similar to previous models. The tablet 16 GB RAM. The rear end camera is an 8 MP shooter which the front camera is a basic 2MP camera. In terms of security, the tablet comes with a fingerprint scanner to lock/unlock and also protect multiple apps within the tablet.  Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Tablet comes with a special module termed the Projector Module to convert the laptop into a projector. The tablet comes with 5 hours extra battery life although the exact battery life details are not provided. The tablet is priced starting $949 and the international availability is sometime in March, meaning the tablet might come to India only the next financial year. Lenovo confirms Lenovo Z2 Plus Indian launch 

Coming next to the new Legion series launched by Lenovo, the laptops launched are Legion Y720 and Legion Y520, the laptops are aimed at gamers and launched solely for gaming enthusiasts. Lenovo Legion Y720 is clearly the more premium and the better series laptop. It is aimed at hardcore gamers. The laptop comes with improved audio and is termed as the ‘World’s First Dolby Atmos PC’ by Lenovo. It is also VR compliant and can work with Oculus. The laptop comes with the feature to connect upto 4 controllers for multi-player mode along with X-box One capabilities. Lenovo Legion Y720 comes with a 15.6-inch full HD IPS display and also a 4K display variant. Under the hood runs a Intel’s seventh gen (Kaby lake) Core i5-7300HQ/Core i7-7700HQ processor, depending on the speed and power you need. The laptop offers a 5 hours battery life on full charge. There are multiple connectivity ports – HDMI port, 3 USB 3.0 ports, VGA port, among others. The Lenovo Legion Y720 is priced starting $1,399 and is expected to be up for sale in April. Lenovo K6 Power goes up for sale on Flipkart for Rs 9,999

Lenovo Legion Y520, which is slightly downgraded and moderate version of Lenovo Legion Y720 is also aimed at gamers. Both the Legion series laptops are for hardcore gaming enthusiasts and come with features specifically for gamers. The display size is the same as that of Lenovo Legion Y720, but the 15.6 inches screen is only available in one Full HD variant. he laptop is available in 2 processor variants – Intel’s seventh gen (Kaby lake) Core i5-7300HQ/Core i7-7700HQ processors. The laptop has done away with Dolby Atmos and instead, features Harman Kardon speakers. Lenovo Legion Y520 is expected to go on sale pretty soon and will be up for grabs in the international market as early as February. It is also moderately priced and the starting price point is $899. Whether the Lenovo Legion Y520 and Lenovo Legion Y720 series laptops will be launched in India and their pricing for the same is still unknown. Lenovo to launch Zuk Edge ultra-thin phone with 4GB RAM for less than Rs 20,000?

Coming to the last Lenovo launch for the day, Lenovo Miix 720. With Lenovo Miix 720, Lenovo has taken their Miix line forward. The Miix series laptops are high powered tablets, aimed at those looking for extra power from their devices. The premium range of tablets, Lenovo Miix 720 comes with a 12 inch QHD+ display. The tablet is a Windows tablet for those looking at exploring in the OS space. The Lenovo Miix 720 comes with a detachable keyboard and kickstand, making it a complete detachable and convertible tablet. The tablet comes along with the Active Pen 2, a new and improved stylus. The Lenovo Miix 720 features biometric security with IR authentication. The tablet comes with a battery to last it up to 8 hours at a stretch on full charge. Lenovo Miix 720 is priced at  $999.99 as the starting price. The Indian availability is unknown.
