New York: Google launched the third generation of its flagship smartphone — Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL at its “Made by Google Event” in New York on Tuesday. The pre-orders for the smartphones begins from October 11 with sales starting from November 11. The phones will be available in three colours — Just Black, Clearly White, and Not Pink. In India, the smartphones will be available from November 1. Reports have it that Google is planning to launch the smartphones in India on October 22.

Before the launch of Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3XL, Flipkart announced that the smartphones will be available exclusive at its platform. Interested customers can now buy a Pixel 3 and get 6 months of YouTube Music Premium from Google. Google claims that the phone battery charges fast and lasts all day long. The smartphones have features like wireless charging, IP68 water, and dust resistance.

Pixel 3 runs Android 9.0 Pie. The smartphone has a 5.5 inch OLED screen with 18:9 aspect ratio. Pixel 3 XL has a larger 6.3-inch Quad HD+ display with a notch and 18.5:9 aspect ratio. Both the devices are powered by Snapdragon 845 SoC. The phones also have front-facing speakers.

The Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL have single 12-megapixel rear camera module. It now offers enhancements such as night sight, playground and super-resolution zoom. The front of the phone has two camera modules. While one acts as a normal lens, another has a wide-angle lens.
