LG G6, the upcoming LG flagship device has been in news since sometime now. Right since the end of 2016, we’ve been seeing leaks and rumours surrounding the device. While most specifications are leaked, there are still some contradictions here and there. While we did hear of the features that LG G6 would sport, the one thing that was still relatively unknown was the look of the device. Now, in recent images, which are a lot more than leaked renders, the design has finally been unveiled. And LG has moved away from their traditional plastic body design and embraced the all new glass craze sweeping the smartphone world. The design of LG G6 hints at a complete aesthetic revamp and the smartphone now comes with no modular look. There are other major changes too. While the world moved on to water resistant and dust resistant smartphones, the LG flagships continued to be plastic devices with removable backs, making them non water resistant. While that was their USP, having a removable battery in times of glass and metal blocks, with the tough competition out there, LG soon fell flat and their LG G5 sales were not up top the mark. And while modular devices seem to be the way going forward, for LG, the LG G5 seemed too futuristic and the device failed to rake in the numbers. Doing a complete u-turn, LG is now going the run of the mill way and the leaked design of LG G6 suggests a all metal and glass body. While there have been rumours of a bezel-less device, there will be bezels but the screen to body ration in the LG G6 is definitely higher – about 90 percent. LG G6 is also said to bring one major change to their smartphones – the thinness. No, not the slimness but the width of the phone. As compared to traditional smartphones, LG G6 will be relatively thinner and will come with an unusual aspect ration of 2:1. In the smartphone world, this is a completely new ratio, one that has not been explored before. The display is said to be much larger – a 5.7 inch display but considering that the phone is a relatively bezel-free device and that the phone will also be slimmer, the overall width and the size won’t be impacted despite the larger screen size. The smartphone will feature the display in 2K resolution, as most of their smartphone displays have high end screens. LG G6 will be a water resistant device as LG has already teased and nearly confirmed. However, that comes as no surprise as LG was among those few flagships without water or dust resistant premium smartphones – most other brands have moved to dust and water resistant devices. With Lg G6, LG will enter the league of smartphones with improved body and water resistant performance. There is not much else that the leaked image tells us except that the smartphone will be a relatively slimmer device. Needless to say, the smartphone will not be a modular one and will unfortunately not come with a removable battery. However, LG might improve on the battery performance as in the past, LG G series batteries have left a lot to be desired. Nokia to power flagship phone with Snapdragon 835 processor, launch Windows device

Although the lower part of the device is not visible, the smartphone is expected to come without any home button and sport the 3.5 mm jack, there will be the fingerprint sensor on the back of the device. LG GH6 will skip the trending dual rear end camera setup and will instead come with a single rear end traditional camera. In terms of other specifications, the smartphone is expected to launch in multiple internal memory variants with LG skipping the memory expansion slot. Under the hood, LG G6 will feature the newly launched Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor and sport massive 6GB RAM. The device in the leaked image is grey but LG G6 might launch in other colours. it would be exciting to see LG move away from the traditional and we cannot wait for February 26th!
