National Basketball Association has come out with new features for its augmented reality app—360 portals. The latest update to the 360 portals let the user create doorways to enter into 360-degree snippets of the NBA experience. The users will be able to experience the most memorable moments of the 2018 playoff.
The game update was released just before the fourth straight NBA finals between the Cavaliers and the Warriors. The game with its AR experience will bring basketball fans into the teams huddles, player instructions and postgame celebrations.
The NBA launched its AR app on iPhones last year in October with a game mode ‘pop-a-shot’, and now the AR app is available on Android as well.

The 360 Portals game is powered by Apple’s ARkit and Google’s ARCore. Users can walk through the door in the game and watch pre-recorded scenes from the Playoffs and Finals. Users can also choose their favourite team and continue playing the basketball playoffs.
NBA EVP of digital media Melissa Rosenthal Brenner said in a statement, “360 Portals will bring NBA fans behind the scenes and onto the court, providing a new way to experience the game through augmented reality. We hope fans around the world check out the NBA AR app throughout the Finals for a unique perspective on our biggest event of the year.”
The new AR app, 360 Portals can be downloaded from App store or Google Play Store.
