Nokia 3310 will be of no use in US, Canada, Australia and here’s why?

Nokia 3310 comes up with two frequencies which are not useful in some parts of the world, including the US and Canada.

Nokia unveiled their 3 smartphones such are Nokia 5, Nokia 6 and Nokia 3  at MWC 2017 in Barcelona along with Nokia 3310. Nokia 3310 made the main centre of attraction for all the people as it is making a comeback after many years. Peoples have many expectations from Nokia as Nokia have wiped from the market and they are making comeback through MWC. Nokia 3310 arrived with large colour display and tweaked keyboard, it still held manage to keep long lasting battery features alive. HMD Global comes up with one more old feature that is it is equipped with old band frequencies, which makes smartphone useless in some of the countries such as US, Canada, Australia, and Singapore and much more.

However, it is said that HMD Global targets the Indian market as the old Nokia 3310 was a great success in India. HMD Global didn’t think that these were important markets and decided to support the old frequencies only. Nokia 3310 has launched with two bands – 900MHZ and 1800MHz – on the GSM network, something which was tremendous 2G connections back then. This mobile Internet and these frequencies are not useful in some parts of the world, including the US and Canada.

While Nokia 3310 targets the Indian market as Nokia impressed Indian market earlier.According to Yahoo Finance, was the feature phone will not work on Australia’s biggest telco Telstra as it does not operate on 2G bands anymore. Vodafone and Optus are switching off 2G this year too.

Nokia 3310 will not be able to make a space in Singapore market as well as Singapore telco StarHub said to The Straits Times that “all 2G-only phones will not support calls, SMS and data services” after 2G services end, which includes Nokia 3310 (2017). If Nokia has to sell this phone they have to come out with this four bands – 850MHZ, 900MHz, 1800MHz, and 1900MHz.  (ALSO READ: Nokia 3310 expected to release in India in April 2017, priced at Rs 4000)

Nokia 3310 updated with modern features for modern people.  It offers 22 hours of talk time and a month of standby time. Nokia 3310  sport a 2.4-inch colour display, a 2-megapixel camera on the rear panel with LED flash, Bluetooth connectivity and a 3.5 mm audio jack. It has also got popular Snakes game on board, accompanied by nostalgic Nokia tone. Bringing back the popular Snake game, the company said, “The world-renowned game Snake will be snaking its way back into people’s hearts with a new version available to play on Messenger, part of Facebook’s Instant Games cross-platform experience.”
