While the main trailer release brought some exciting returns in the Star Wars universe which included Senator Palpatine aka Darth Sidious played by Ian McDiarmid. But the new trailer from D23 seems to bring some new perspective to the upcoming film.
Star Wars The Rise of Skywalker: New trailer details
The D23 trailer starts off with scenes of the original trilogy with Luke Skywalker, Obi Wan Kenobi, Princess Leia Organa, Han Solo, C3-P0, R2-D2, Darth Vader, Yoda. It moves on to the prequel trilogy with Darth Maul, younger Obi-Wan, Qui Gon Jinn, Anakin, Padme, Mace Windu, and Senator Palpatine. And then comes Kylo Ren, the older General Leia and Han Solo, Rey, Finn, BB-8, Poe of the most recent generation. The narrator in the trailer seems to be Luke’s voice, who tells Rey that a thousand generations live in her now. We then move on to a scene of a festivities seen by our heroes. Then there’s a glimpse of General Leia, followed by what looks like a tiny Rebel fleet against the gigantic fleet of Imperial Star Destroyers.
Then we get a look we never thought we’d see, which is a C3-PO with red eyes and what looks like a planet getting hit by a monstrous beam. Rey seems to be doing some lightsaber training in a tropical planet like Dagobah. Then comes Adam Driver’s Kylo Ren wielding his red lightsaber, clashing with Rey on what appears to be a broken down Deathstar. But what has really stirred up all the fans is a the sound of Vader’s classic wheezing and the a Rey in black robes wielding a dual-bladed red lightsaber.
