Xiaomi is expected to launch Redmi Note 4 in India with an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 (MSM8953) processor clocked at 2Ghz, as suggested by benchmark test spotted on Geekbench benchmarking website. Earlier today, Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 launch was made official by Xiaomi India Head, Manu Kumar Jain, putting an end to speculations. The Chinese manufacturer along with Indian e-commerce giant Flipkart has teased of an upcoming Redmi smartphone for several weeks. Redmi Note 4 is no more an assumption and the device indeed will be launched on January 19 in India.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 was launched in China back in August last year, featuring a deca-core MediaTek Helio X20 SoC. Apparently, MediaTek processors on Xiaomi devices are not allowed to be imported in India. Thus, it was speculated that the upcoming smartphone would run on Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. A Geekbench result uploaded today on the benchmarking website has confirmed the existence of Redmi Note 4 device running a Qualcomm MSM8953 chipset, also called the Snapdragon 625. The device running on Snapdragon chipset scored 831 on single-core test and 2927 on multi-core. On the other hand Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 running on the deca-core MediaTek Helio X20 SoC scored a 1525 on single-core test and 4665 on multi-core test.
Redmi Note 4 was launched in China in two variants – 2GB RAM with 16GB internal storage priced at CNY 899 (approximately Rs 9000) and 3GB RAM with 64GB internal storage priced at CNY 1,199 (approximately Rs 12,000). The two variants of the device are expected to be priced around similar lines in India as well. As reported earlier, Redmi Note 4 will be Flipkart exclusive and shall be available shortly after its launch this week.
About the specifications, Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 sports a 5.5 inch FullHD display with a 2.5D curved glass on the top, offering a premium look to the device. The all-metal build handset has a fingerprint scanner on the rear panel and an integrated infrared sensor on board. Xiaomi offers Redmi Note 4 in gold, grey and silver color variant. In terms of optics, the handset sports a 13 megapixel rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, PDAF and a 5 megapixel wide-angle lens camera on the front.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 is dua-SIM enabled and packs within a 4100 mAh battery along with other features such as 4G with VoLTE, Bluetooth 4.1, WiFi, GPS and Micro-USB.
