Xiaomi sold over 1 million units of Redmi Note 4 in 45 days, next sale on Wednesday, March 15

Xiaomi had quite a successful year in 2016 in India and apparently, the good times continues for the Chinese smartphone manufacturers. On Tuesday, the company announced that it has sold 1 million units of their latest mid-ranger smartphone, Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 in the country. Intrestingly, it has achieved the milestone in 45 days since first Redmi Note 4 sale on January 23.
Xiaomi claims Redmi Note 4 to be the fastest smartphone model in India to sell 1 million units. Accoding to Xiaomi India’s post on its official Facebook profile, the company sold one Redmi Note 4 device every 4 seconds in the mentioned time period. Looking at the past records of the company in India, it has been setting and breaking records after records. Redmi Note 4 was launched in the country earlier this year in January 2017 by then VP Hugo Barra at an event in New Delhi.
Redmi Note 4 happened to set record from its first flash sale, happened on January 23. Xiaomi claimed to sell 250,000 units of the smartphone in just 10 minutes. Announcing, the post-first flash sale report, the company announced that it sold Redmi Note 4 device 3 times and 5 times the quantity of the first sale of Redmi 3S and Redmi Note 3 respectively. According to IDC, last year Redmi Note 3 broke records for being the most shipped smartphone sold online in a quarter and Xiaomi ranked as the second largest smartphone vendor in India.
Further, Manu Jain, promoted as Vice President of Xiaomi in February, aims to sell a record 7 million units in the year 2017. The company has hosted six flash sales for Redmi Note 4, exclusively on Mi.com and official e-commerce partner Flipkart. Redmi Note 4, next opens for sale on Wednesday, March 15. Intrestingly, Redmi Note 4 would also come compete with recently launch Moto G5 Plus, as it opens for its first sale in India on the same day. To recall, Redmi Note 4 comes in three variant – 2GB RAM/32GB storage , 3GB RAM/32 GB storage and 4GB RAM/64GB storage, priced at Rs 9999, Rs 10999 and Rs 12,999 respectively. It sports a 5.5 inch FullHD display in an all metal body design and has Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC under the hood. The smartphone runs on MIUI 8.0 based on Android Nougat 7.0 and comes in Gold, Grey, Silver and Matte Black color options.
