Xiaomi has started sending out invites to their event scheduled on Monday and the device rumoured to launch at the event is the all new Xiaomi Redmi 4A. The phone is a more basic and budget version of Xiaomi Redmi 4. Both, the Xiaomi Redmi 4 and Xiaomi Redmi 4A were launched internationally in China but are yet to be launched in India. Xiaomi is expected to launch the Xiaomi Redmi 4A device with similar specifications as those in China with a few minor changes if at all. The phone is expected to be in the entry level segment in India. Xiaomi has already been teasing the device heavily on social media and Amazon India is already accepting notifications for the launch. The device will be an Amazon exclusive in the country. Xiaomi has even created a trend on twitter for the new device with the hashtag, #TimeToGetSmarter. Taking a look at the specifications for the device, Xiaomi Redmi 4A runs Android Marshmallow out of the box. The phone comes with a 5-inch HD display with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels. Under the hood runs a 1.4GHz quad-core Snapdragon 425 processor. The phone comes in just 1 internal memory version – 16 GB though there is an expandable memory card slot. The RAM of the device is 2 GB. Xiaomi Redmi 4A sports a 13 MP rear end camera and a 5 MP selfie camera. In terms of battery, Xiaomi Redmi 4A comes with relatively larger battery life that is 3120mAh battery. The phone however, being an entry level device skips the fingerprint sensor that comes on the back of the Xiaomi Redmi 4. While the teasers stress on the device being Xiaomi Redmi 4A, there is no word on when and whether Xiaomi will launch the Xiaomi Redmi 4 in India. The phone is priced at CNY 499 (approximately Rs. 5000) in China and the phone is expected to be priced in a similar range in India.
