Telangana Schools Closed Today: Schools across Telangana will remain closed on Wednesday as the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi (ABVP) has called for a State-wide schools bandh to protest against the state government’s failure to provide basic facilities in government schools and failing to curb exorbitant fee hikes by private schools.
The ABVP in a statement said that the Telangana state-wide school bandh on June 26 to protest against government’s failure to provide basic facilities in government schools, introduce fee control law to stop illegal fees of private and corporate schools and solve other problems in school education.
In this regard, ABVP State Secretary Chintakayala Jhansi said that issues like basic facilities in the government schools remained unresolved despite bringing them to the notice of the government for several years.
While announcing the state-wide bandh, the ABVP demanded the government to provide basic amenities in public schools and implement a fee control law to curb excessive charges by private and corporate schools.
Notably, this is the second such bandh called by ABVP in Telangana this month, highlighting their ongoing issues about the state of school education.
Even as there is no official confirmation of a statewide closure of schools, several educational institutions in Hyderabad, as a precautionary measure, have already declared a holiday on Wednesday. And some of the schools have opted for online classes for students between classes 5 and 10.
It is expected that the schools in Telangana will open a day after the bandh is called off. However, parents are advised to check with their child’s school for specific updates regarding the bandh’s impact on their schedule and the opening date of schools.
In a notice, the ABVP has also urged the schools to close their premises for the day and to hold the government accountable for its failures.
