Anurag Kashyap was born on 10 September 1972 in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh. His father Mr. Prakash Singh was retired Chief Engineer of Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited and was working at Obra Thermal Power House in Sonbhadra district near Varanasi.
